As the temperatures soar there is no cooling off here at Fresh Web Services!
Several new Magento projects have just been started. One is based around improving the customer experience by re-engineering the user interface to make the site easier to use and to more clearly signpost information and calls to action. Allied to this are backend improvements to rationalise stock management and integration with 3rd party providers.
Another project involves an existing client's migration to Magento 2 and a website redesign, again with more advanced backend integrations. This will be challenging not least because certain Magento 1 extensions will need to be re-written for Magento 2.
We've also written and delivered two bespoke Magento training days for Leicester Magento users. These projects are always enjoyable because client satisfaction is immediate, as they learn to do things they didn't know Magento was capable of. They are also interesting for the insight one gets of how other agencies have implemented Magento - sometimes in strange and silly ways!
Alongside these projects has been the ongoing patching and maintenance of client sites, especially as 2017 has seen a number of Magento, Joomla & WordPress security releases and updates. Joomla! 3.7 has been our favourite update so far, with Custom Fields and a host of other improvements. We outline our favourite 3 Joomla! 3.7 innovations elsewhere.
Talking of WordPress, we've also started work on several WordPress projects since the start of the summer and look forward to launching them after the summer holidays. There's also a couple of Joomla! websites that we'll be launching soon after that.
