Bradgate Event Furniture Hire supply marquees, party tents and event furniture for hire throughout Leicestershire and beyond. Their business relies upon a mixture of word of mouth and Google for new business enquiries, the latter had slowly been diminishing.
When looking for an update to their existing portfolio of Wordpress websites, a business colleague recommended they got in touch with us.
The client originally had four Wordpress websites, each one targeting a different sector in the event hire business. With content spread across four separate sites, their rankings, and enquiries, had started to fall. They therefore needed to consolidate the four websites into one site that could act as the company's lead generation tool.
The Solution - Wordpress Quotation Engine
As well as consolidating the four websites into one, we looked at the best way to turbo-charge their website as a lead generation engine. Looking at the range of events that they catered for, it became clear that they needed something like a shopping cart, so that users could use the website to add all the elements required for their particular event. Unlike a shopping cart, however, customers would not checkout immediately, rather it is standard in the industry for customers to want a quote before agreeing to proceed.
We therefore decided to use the ecommerce plugin WooCommerce, but to replace the standard checkout with a quotation form. Users add "products" (such as chairs, marquees, etc) to their "shopping cart" and then "checkout" by submitting a quote request. Just like a regular shopping cart, customers and site administrators receive a "New Quote" email, detailing what and how many of each item have been requested.
The Site administrator is then able to review all the quotes received and then begin the process of processing the quotes, just as one would a conventional online order.
With their previous four websites in effect competing against each other, as well as the competition, the client had experienced a gradual but inexorable decline in the number of leads that their websites delivered. Since going live with their new consolidated website, enquries generated by the new website have soared, making this year one of the busiest for some time. This rapid growth in sales leads has been helped by the improved user experience provided by the new website - potential customers can see more clearly, and in one place, the full range and cost of the hire service offered by Bradgate Event Furniture Hire.
We also streamlined the client's email situation, by migrating their emails to Google's G-Suite, ensuring the client can access emails whenever and wherever they are.
By presenting the hire options just like a shopping cart, users have a familiar experience, making it easier to navigate and use the website and thereby improving conversion rates.
