The brief
The client required more than an online shop. They wanted a portal that would act as a resource for women seeking advice, a chat and feminine hygiene products. The site was to be engaging and the sense of community developed would entice women to return frequently.
The design
To realise these requirements we designed an online shop with an integrated forum and resource area. When a new customer registers to buy from the shop, a forum account is immediately created too, and welcome emails from the shop and forum invite her to participate. The ‘Suggest a lyric’ feature gives visitors a sense of ‘ownership’ and is intended to encourage repeat visits.
The design is clean and simple, without the shop being too busy and distracting for the consumer. Intergrated into paypal, while also allowing shoppers to use offline payments too, the shop makes buying easy and convenient.
The outcomes
Whilst it’s still early days, the forum is beginning to attract contributors and the shop has started taking orders. The next step is for a concerted on and offline marketing campaign, so watch this space.
