Aten Lighting approached our design partners, R&G Design, for a new ecommerce website. R&G asked us to build the shop and implement the template according to their design.

We recommended the Magento shopping cart, which has excellent SEO, catalogue management and design flexibility.

Magento is now the most popular open source shopping cart largely because its features are second to none.

One of the design requirements was to have different page backgrounds for each product top level category. We were able to achieve this using Magento's category layout updates feature. 

Aten Lighting chose Paypal Express and Website Payments Pro, enabling users to pay either via their Paypal account or by using a credit or debit card.

Improving conversions is crucuial to any ecommerce website. One important step is to improve the ease of use of the checkout itself. 

We implemented a 'one step checkout' for Aten Lighting's Magento website, which provides a visually appealing and simplified checkout experience.

Guest checkout functionality was also included, reducing the number of clicks to buy.




Another requirement was for a 'Call for Price' freature. We implemented custom code that replaces price and buy elements with a custom message. Administrators can make a product 'Call for Price' using a simple drop down.
